| History: |
A very good friend bought this MV and did not like it, he put only 579 miles on the clock in 2001 and then locked it away until this May when I happened to go into his garage and saw it collecting dust. this was a bike of my dreams. so I did a deal and he then went out and filled the space in his garage with a Ferrari. (very rich friend !!). No money passed hands. I am a photographer and he wanted a new brochure for his company so the deed was done. My Uncle 'Tim Kirby' was a motor cycle promoter and team owner back in the 50-60s and along with 'Rickman' he designed one of the first full works machines. until them most teams seam to have modified production bikes. Also his bikes were the first machines to race with hydraulic disks brakes. When the 'Kirby Matisse' was rolled out, one of the first to jump on was Mike Hailwood, The great 'Mike the Bike' was given some of his first rides with my uncle, but soon was snapped up, and one of his moves was to MV Agusta, and did he fly !! This is when I started to take notice. as a young boy I saw loads of black and white photos kicking about the family of my uncles teams. some I keep. So now you know why I wanted my Agusta. |
