In depth
History: Bought new sight unseen from dealer while sitting on a 910S in dealer's showrooom after he advised me that the distributor had just notified them that day they he was shipping them the last 910R available for the first year of production because, I believe he said, they had sold more than any other dealer. I recall in an earlier visit to pick up something for'03 Coppa Italia Moto Guzzi, that they had deposits on four and a waiting list. I was told by a good source that 50 were shipped to US the first year. So it is likely #50 of total sold in US. Still in mint condition and ridden on a limited basis when conditions are just right. Garaged and covered at all times.
Modifications: PIAA head light bulb.
Problems: Absolutely none. Never touched by a mechanic to date. I change the fluids. Have adjusted the chain once. No other adjustments have ever been needed. Valves rarily need adjusting at the 600 mi check so it was skipped.
Comments: There is not a naked bike out there today with a handle that touches any 910R, no less the latest 1098 versions. Remember this machine was built with 1/2 of a Ferrari V8 engine modified in a cooperative venture with Massimo Tamburrini for his reincarnation of M.V. Long live M. V. Agusta!
